Guest speakers will discuss BESB services and provide general tips to keep in mind when working with individuals who are visually impaired or blind. All guest speakers will discuss what their job role is and what services they provide through the BESB services. They will also share strategies for using “the other senses” to perform daily living tasks, such as using appliances, dial a phone, use a TV remote, identify money, and identify medication. Along with discussing the strategies that help people who are visually impaired and blind travel safer and more independently in their residences and within their community. This presentation will also include a brief discussion of Human Guide, travelling with a long cane, and utilizing mass transit.
