DAVID V. HUNTER – President and Chief Executive Officer

David V. Hunter is the President & CEO of Mary Wade and its subsidiaries, and his years of service began in 1981.  Mr. Hunter has directed the organization through several expansions and improvements on its campus.

Shaun Mastroianni – Vice President of Chatham Place at Mary Wade

Shaun joins our team with nearly 20 years of healthcare experience in senior living and rehabilitation operations. Most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer and Administrator at Connecticut Baptist Homes, he is known for improving performance, strengthening teams, and driving financial turnarounds.

He has led major initiatives including an $8 million renovation and the launch of a memory care unit that reached 100% occupancy within eight months. Shaun holds an MBA from the University of New Haven, is a Connecticut Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), and serves on the board of Covenant Homeless Shelter of New London.

WILLIAM GINTER – Vice President Finance

Mr. Ginter began his service as Mary Wade’s CFO on August 5, 2019.  Mr. Ginter has more than three decades of professional experience in healthcare financial management and has served in the following roles:  Controller, Director of Financial Planning, Director of Finance, and Director of Budget and Decision Support for several hospitals in Connecticut.  Mr. Ginter holds a bachelor’s degree from Central Connecticut State University and a Master of Business Administration from University of Connecticut.  Mr. Ginter is a senior member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

IVETTE OLIVERAS – Property Manager

Ivette started working with The Mary Wade Home in September of 2013 as the Leasing Assistant. Four months later, she was promoted to Property Manager to manage the properties outside Mary Wade. There were 8 houses and 13 tenants in total. In addition, Ivette also directs The Fair Haven Community Parade and where she has done so for several years. Outside work, Ivette is a wife and mother to three wonderful children and is in the process of adopting a fourth child.

WILLIAM KOWALEWSKI – Vice President / Mary Wade Healthcare

William (Bill) Kowalewski, Vice President of Mary Wade Healthcare, holds a Master of Public Administration Health Policy and Management from New York University and a BS in Mathematics. Most recently serving as the Woodridge Rehabilitation & Nursing Administrator and VP of Aging Services at Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC) and before that as Executive Director of the Southington Care Center, he has also sat on several boards including serving as Treasurer of the national American Lung Association, President of the New York Lung Association, and board member of the Alzheimer’s Association of Connecticut.
With over 20 years experience in senior administrative roles in rehabilitation and skilled nursing facilities, Bill is excited to focus his passion for fostering a supportive environment that prioritizes exceptional care for our residents.

VALERIE SANTOS – Vice President Employee Relations

Valerie joined Mary Wade in October 2022 bringing 18 years of Human Resources executive leadership experience in senior living.  She has overall responsibility for HR Operations including the administration of the wage, salary, and benefits programs to ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations pertaining to employment matters.  Valerie is a 2015 fellow of the LeadingAge Connecticut Leadership Academy and served as coach for the Connecticut Leadership Academy from 2017 to 2019. She earned a certificate in Strategic Leadership from the University of Hartford’s Center for Professional Development in 2013.  Valerie has over 27 years of Human Resources experience working at Duncaster, a Life Plan community and ING Investments. She is most proud of establishing and championing the Diversity & Inclusion and Employee Wellness programs.  She brings to Mary Wade proven strategies for talent acquisition, employee engagement and retention approaches.  She earned her B.S. in Marketing at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI along with an Associates Degree in Public Relations, Advertising and Retail Management.

He is past Chairman of the Board of Directors LeadingAge Connecticut formerly the Connecticut Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (CANPFA), and a recipient of LeadingAge Connecticut’s Humanitarian Award. He served as a member of the Budget and Finance Committee of LeadingAge formerly the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) and completed a six year term as a Connecticut Delegate. He is involved in many community and health associations and is past Chair of the Institute for Long Term Care Policy, the South Central Connecticut Agency on Aging Interagency Council, and Connecticut Coalition to Improve End-Of-Life Care.  Mr. Hunter holds an undergraduate degree in Business Economics from Southern Connecticut State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of New Haven.
